Kremlin backtracks on «deadline» for troop withdrawal from Donbas: New statement
Putin’s spokesman Peskov has begun claiming that there are no deadlines for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops.
Donbas
The Kremlin stated that they have set no «deadlines» for the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbas, but cynically added that such a move «would contribute to the process of conflict resolution.»
Russian state news outlet Interfax reported the comments, quoting Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
«No. There are no deadlines. That’s all untrue, ” Peskov told Russian journalists on Friday in response to a question on the matter.
Russia continues to manipulate the issue of Ukrainian troop withdrawals from Donbas in the context of peace talks.
«We have repeatedly said that to end the active phase of the special military operation, Ukraine must withdraw its troops from Donbas. This needs to be done. It would indeed contribute to the process of political-diplomatic conflict resolution, ” the Kremlin representative said.
Peskov cynically added that Russia has no intention of halting the war.
«We will continue the special military operation until all defined objectives are achieved, ” he said.
