In the Kharkiv region, Russian occupying forces continue to press on Kupiansk, having advanced into the northern areas of the city. At the same time, Ukraine's Defense Forces are effectively deploying unmanned aerial vehicles to sever the enemy's logistical routes. From the perspective of aerial operations, the city has thus fallen into a "double siege" — for both Ukrainian defenders and the Russian occupiers.

This was stated during a telethon broadcast by Viktor Trehubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Grouping.

Enemy enters Kupiansk

According to Trehubov, the situation in the Kupiansk area remains tense. Russian forces have achieved success on the northern axis and are now present in part of the city.

"In the Kupiansk area, the enemy is currently present in the northern districts of the city. Approximately 20% of the city's districts the enemy is attempting to occupy precisely in the north," Trehubov noted.

Simultaneously with ground operations, the enemy is actively using strike drones. The goal of these strikes is to cut Ukrainian supply lines, which are critically important for the city's defense.

Kupiansk's “double siege”

Viktor Trehubov described the unique situation that has developed around Kupiansk, which he called a "double siege." This pertains to airspace and logistics.

"From the UAV perspective, the situation is the same in the opposite direction," Trehubov added.

While Russian UAVs attempt to cut off supplies to the Defense Forces, Ukrainian drones are acting symmetrically, completely blocking supply routes for the occupying troops.

"All enemy supplies are being cut off by Ukrainian UAVs, so in this regard, the city is somehow under a double siege if we consider the air," the head of the communications department reported.

On the ground, the enemy continues to strengthen its presence in the northern districts of the settlement, attempting to advance further into the city.
