The Russian occupiers have developed a new unmanned aerial vehicle that operates without a single communication channel and autonomously engages targets.
This was reported by Serhii Beskrestnov, a military specialist in electronic warfare and communications systems and Head of the Center for Radio Technologies, with the call sign «Flash.»
He warned that the new Russian AI-powered drones can independently search for targets and are capable of recognizing objects.
«For those who recall my series of posts about the enemy’s V2U AI drone: a drone that independently searches for targets and can recognize objects. Previously, we found an LTE modem on this drone for some purposes, but now the third trophy I’ve encountered has no modem, ” the expert noted.
«Flash» explained that the UAV now operates entirely without any communication channel. It navigates autonomously and attacks targets autonomously as well. Suppressing its control and navigation with electronic warfare is impossible.
«I consider this technology a threat of the future: for example, the drone could fly independently over a road or railway track, searching for targets to attack. There have already been cases where a drone struck a crowd of people at a market, ” the communications specialist warned about the new threat.
