Russian forces continue shelling Kherson. The enemy is also striking surrounding settlements, using various types of weapons, drones, and remote mining tactics. One of the greatest threats to civilians remains the PFM-1 anti-personnel mines, commonly referred to as «petals.»

This was reported by the National Police.

Recently, the occupiers remotely scattered these explosive devices in the Dniprovskyi district of the city. Due to their small size and camouflaged colors — green or brown — the «petals» are nearly invisible in grass, soil, or among fallen leaves. Stepping on or driving over the mine is enough to trigger it.

Explosives experts from the Kherson police promptly arrived at the scene. Despite continuous enemy shelling and the threat of drone attacks, sappers managed to survey the area and locate the dangerous objects. According to the unit head Volodymyr Perepelytsia, the mines found were collected and destroyed by controlled detonation.

Police remind of safety rules

In light of repeated instances of mining, residents of the region are reminded:

  • Do not touch suspicious objects or attempt to move or dismantle them;

  • Do not try to neutralize explosives on your own;

  • Move to a safe distance and, if possible, mark the location of the dangerous find;

  • Immediately report the discovered object by calling «102» (police) or «101» (State Emergency Service).

Kherson law enforcement officers are working in an enhanced mode and responding to every report to ensure maximum civilian safety.
