Ukraine holds reserves of equipment to repair energy facilities hit by Russian shelling. While these supplies are expected to last for several months, the situation remains «quite difficult» due to the inability to predict the intensity and nature of future attacks.

This was reported by Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Research Center, in a comment for Novyny.LIVE.

Reserves for «several months»

According to Kharchenko, Ukraine has certain equipment reserves that were accumulated earlier. He confirmed that these reserves should be sufficient for several more months of restoration work.

The expert stresses that overall, the situation with equipment remains difficult. There is no way to precisely forecast how long the supplies will hold out.

Biggest threat — unpredictability

The key challenge in planning and evaluating equipment needs is the unpredictability of Russia’s actions. No one can precisely predict the nature of future attacks, what will be targeted, or which elements of the energy system will be most affected.

Kharchenko said it is very hard to forecast exactly how much equipment would be required if another major wave of attacks occurs.

«The stockpiled reserves should be enough for a few more months, but overall the situation remains quite difficult, ” the expert said.
