Russian forces have changed their strategy of attacks on Ukraine. While previously they targeted logistics and energy infrastructure with drones and missiles, they are now attacking residential areas of cities.
This was stated by military-political expert Dmytro Sniehyrov during a broadcast on the TV channel FREEDОM.
He emphasizes that the tactics of Russian drone strikes have notably changed. Currently, such attacks take on a “swarm-like nature” — with 10 or more UAVs concentrated in a single attack.
“And from altitudes of 2,000–2,500 km, beyond the reach of Ukrainian mobile units, the drones suddenly dive directly onto residential districts of Ukrainian cities, effectively neutralizing the capabilities of Ukraine’s air defense systems,” the expert explains.
Additionally, the enemy often uses the tactic of double strikes — first attacking civilian targets to cause the maximum number of casualties among Ukrainian civilians. Then, once rescuers and medics begin responding to the aftermath, Russia launches a second strike.
“This is a terrorist tactic. A tactic meant, in the Russian view, to cause the highest possible number of casualties not only among civilians but also among medics, State Emergency Service personnel, and other responders involved in countering Russian attacks,” Dmytro Sniehyrov adds.
