Russia hits freight train in region, people injured
The enemy continues to attack Ukraine’s civilian logistics in an effort to disrupt the economy.
Russian drone attack
On March 5, a Russian drone struck a freight train in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring the driver and his assistant, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development reports.
The previous day a Russian strike drone hit a civilian merchant vessel leaving a Ukrainian port along a maritime corridor. One crew member was wounded and received immediate medical care.
Later that evening, drones attacked a railway station in Odesa region, damaging several railcars, with no injuries reported. The following morning, Russian forces targeted railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. A drone struck the locomotive of a moving freight train, injuring the driver and his assistant, who received medical treatment.
“Russia’s attacks on transport infrastructure and shipping are a continuation of terror against civilian logistics and an attempt to undermine Ukraine’s economy and global food security,” the ministry said.
