Russia’s offensive

The aggressor state, Russia, intends to create a new buffer zone in the Vinnytsia region—from the side of unrecognized Transnistria.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, such ambitious desires are not appearing for the first time. At the same time, their plans still include the creation of a buffer zone in the border regions of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv.

However, Moscow’s main focus this year will be concentrated on the Donbas. Palisa added that occupying forces are also expected to ramp up operations in the south, specifically targeting the Oleksandrivka and Zaporizhzhia axes.

«The Russians still intend to create the conditions to seize Zaporizhzhia and Kherson region, with long-term goals of capturing the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Now, their plans even include a provision for a buffer zone in the Vinnytsia region from the side of unrecognized Transnistria,» Palisa said.

According to him, «there is no need to panic.» Currently, there are no signs that Russian forces have the capacity to implement all these intentions.
