On Tuesday, December 30, Russian occupying forces struck civilian infrastructure with drones, hitting merchant vessels flying foreign flags.

The Ukrainian Navy officially reported the incident.

Details of the attack

Two vessels came under enemy fire: Emmakris III and Captain Karam.

The military said the bulk carrier Captain Karam was entering a port to load wheat at the time of the attack.

As a result of the strike by attack drones, civilians were injured.

Threat to the world

The Navy stressed that ports and merchant vessels are exclusively civilian objects. Strikes against them constitute a deliberate war crime.

«Attacks on them pose a threat to the lives of civilians and undermine global food security, ” the Ukrainian military said in a statement.
