Russian offensive in Sumy region: Ukrainian serviceman explains what’s really happening
The occupying army is desperately trying to capture Yunakivka.
Offensive in Sumy region.
Russian forces are suffering heavy losses in the Sumy region. At present, there is no rapid advance by the invaders. Fighting is ongoing for the village of Yunakivka, but Russian troops have failed to capture it.
This was stated by Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Kyrylo Sazonov on the Ranok.LIVE broadcast.
According to him, Ukrainian Defense Forces recently drove the occupiers out of Andriivka, which the Russians “tried to capture at any cost.”
“The area is simply littered with the corpses of assault groups. They didn’t retake Andriivka, they’re still fighting for it, but they’ve lost a huge number of soldiers. There is no forward movement in the Sumy region. What’s more — according to our intelligence, pilots, and military analysts — the Russians have lost nearly all the reinforcements they deployed there,” said Sazonov.
The serviceman noted that the aggressor state’s command sent elite units to the Sumy region — such as airborne troops and marines. However, even they are suffering catastrophic losses.
“Their motorized infantry has been decimated in Sumy. The losses are so severe that out of a company of 100 soldiers, only eight remain,” Sazonov added.
