A Russian «Shahed» drone struck a residential district in Kharkiv during the daytime on April 5, damaging apartment buildings in the city’s Shevchenkivskyi district.

This was confirmed by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov.

Consequences of the attack on Kharkiv

According to preliminary reports, several people were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The exact number of casualties and their medical status are currently being determined. Surrounding high-rise buildings sustained significant damage.

«The strike hit the ground near an apartment block. Windows in nearby residential buildings were shattered,» detailed Oleh Synehubov.

Two women, aged 61 and 89, suffered from acute stress reactions following the blast.

At least six residential houses were damaged in the attack: roofs were destroyed, windows blown out, and vital infrastructure—including a gas pipeline and the sewage system—was severed.

Emergency services are on the scene, and a damage assessment is underway. Victims are receiving all necessary assistance.

Another strike reported in the Slobidskyi district.

«According to updated information from the Situation Center, the strike in the Slobidskyi district hit an open area, sparking a fire in the grass and shrubbery. There are no reported casualties or structural damage there,» Terekhov noted.
