Targeted razing of Chernihiv region: Which areas should brace themselves
Russia is devastating one region—Chernihiv—to avoid spreading resources thin. Yet Sumy and Kharkiv could be next in line.
Russia shifts tactics: Chernihiv region in the crosshairs, but who's next
Russian occupiers are methodically dismantling civilian infrastructure and logistics in Chernihiv region. It's not out of the question that another border region might face the same fate.
Volunteer and military instructor Roman Donik posted this on his Facebook page.
"What's unfolding in Chernihiv right now will likely hit another frontline area with a regional center hugging the border in the coming days. These are not "accidental strikes". This is a targeted dismantling of civilian infrastructure and logistics: power grids, railways and our logistically crucial clusters,” Donik writes.
According to him, the Russians drew lessons from last winter and are working on correcting their mistakes. Whereas before Moscow dispersed its missiles and drones across many regions, it is now purposefully “taking out” a single region.
“Perhaps they are simply testing a scheme. They keep others on edge so forces and resources are not redeployed. They will destroy a few more junctions and bridges, and there will be a problem. A big one,” Donik speculates.
The volunteer suggests that the next targets after Chernihiv could be the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
