Ukraine has successfully brought back a 14-year-old teenager from the occupied territory whom the Russians had planned to send to an orphanage.
This was reported by Head of the Ministry of Reintegration, Irina Vereshchuk.
At the beginning of August, a woman contacted the Ministry of Reintegration and reported that a 14-year-old boy, Ivan, lives in the occupied part of the Kherson region. After the death of his grandmother, who had been taking care of him, there were plans to send the teenager to an orphanage in the occupied territory.
A family of internally displaced persons from the occupied Kherson region, who currently live in the Kyiv region, agreed to take custody of the boy. They had known Ivan for a long time, even before their relocation. However, they couldn't take him from the temporarily occupied territory on their own.
"In less than a month, the child is safe on the controlled territory. Thanks to everyone who participated. Special thanks to the volunteers whose names I can't disclose publicly yet, but I will definitely do so after our victory," stated Vereshchuk.
