The Volyn regional authorities have decided to install special protective structures on roads in the border region to protect traffic from hostile drones. The move is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen defensive lines in the region.
The introduction of the new security measures was reported by Rayon.Shatsk, citing a statement by Roman Romaniuk, Head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration.
Strengthening Volyn’s border defenses
Preparations of defensive positions and robust engineering fortifications in Volyn began long before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Coordination between the military, regional authorities and local governments remains highly effective, allowing for an immediate response to any potential challenges.
The regional governor assured local officials from the Shatsk community that efforts to strengthen security continue without interruption, as risks from the neighboring state remain consistently high. For this reason, special anti-drone coverings will be installed along designated sections of local roads.
«We must be as prepared as possible for any scenario. Today, Volyn is one of Ukraine’s best-prepared border regions, and this work must continue,» Roman Romaniuk said.
