President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is currently not the primary focus for the US, and the negotiation process to end the war is moving slower than Kyiv expected.

He made the statement during a joint meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on June 3.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is still waiting for the arrival of the American negotiation team, but the process is being delayed due to other international crises.
«Unfortunately, we are not in the spotlight today. In my opinion, the issue of Iran is now the number one priority for the United States. Ukraine comes next. In fact, we are standing in line among these wars,» the head of state said.

At the same time, he stressed that the United States holds the greatest leverage over Russia and can compel Vladimir Putin to agree to end the war.

Ukraine supports any negotiation format

The president stressed that Ukraine supports any format that could expedite peace.
«Our ultimate goal is to end this war—there is no other way. That is why I have repeatedly stated that we are open to any format. I am ready for direct talks with Putin if it brings a swift end to the war, rather than waiting for the world to resolve all the other conflicts,» Zelenskyy said.

He also emphasized that the most effective option for Ukraine would be the joint participation of the US and other international partners, including the EU, since the war is being fought on European soil.
