Zelenskyy assesses Russia’s signals on negotiations and peace

The Russian army continues to strike at the territory of Ukraine, killing civilians. This has nothing to do with steps towards peace.

Today, the Russians are sending negative signals regarding meetings and the further course of events. They will only take strong pressure into account.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian leader held a conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

“A very good conversation — as always, we are coordinating our positions for more meaningful results,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He stressed that teams are actively preparing the architecture of strong and multilateral security guarantees for Ukraine, with everyone involved: Europeans, Americans, and other partners in the coalition of the willing.

“Military commanders, defense ministers, security advisers — at various levels, we are preparing the components of future security. We are accelerating in defining the details. It is already time to organize a format for leaders’ talks to determine key priorities and timelines,” Zelenskyy notes.

According to the President of Ukraine, an important area is relations with the United States, ensuring maximum substance in these relations.

“Right now, unfortunately, the Russians are giving negative signals regarding meetings and the further course of events. Strikes on our cities and villages continue. Every day brings new victims. The Russians will only take strong pressure into account in response to all this. Pressure is necessary. We are counting on it. Steps are needed from Russia — steps toward real diplomacy,” Zelenskyy emphasizes.
