Belarus announced a "sudden check" of combat readiness on the border with Ukraine

In the first stage of the check, operational occupation of designated areas will be practiced.

On June 21, Belarus began a "sudden check" of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces' units and formations to perform their designated tasks. The check is taking place in Gomel and Brest regions, which border Ukraine.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

"Today, a sudden check of the readiness of the units and military formations of the Armed Forces to perform their designated tasks has begun," the ministry's statement said.

The ministry specified that military units and subunits of the operational commands, special operations forces, missile forces and artillery, air forces, and air defense troops are involved in the check.

"In the first stage of the check, issues of the operational occupation of designated areas, their engineering preparation, organization of security and defense, as well as deployment on combat duty will be practiced," the Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated.
