Ignat reveals Russia's tactics during UAV attacks on Ukraine: What is the danger?

In particular, the Russian tactic involves constantly changing drone routes. The Russian army employs various tactics during drone strikes on Ukraine, including conducting group drone raids on a single settlement.

Head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command Yuriy Ignat said this in a comment to RBC.Ukraine.

According to him, the Russians are now constantly altering UAV routes and attempting to launch them at high altitudes — over 2 kilometers above the ground — before they dive directly toward the target.

"At such altitudes, they become more visible to our radars but are out of reach for small arms, large-caliber machine guns, and mobile fire groups," Ignat explained.

Additionally, the Russians conduct group UAV raids simultaneously on a single settlement or target. For example, this was the case on the night of May 26 in Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region, where the main focus of their attack was directed, Ignat added.

Furthermore, the Russians launch 60% real UAVs and 40% decoy drones to increase the burden on Ukrainian air defenses.
