Prices for almost all goods and services may rise in Ukraine: an expert's shocking forecast

If fuel prices, especially diesel, increase, the cost of all goods and services could rise, even train tickets.

This was stated by Volodymyr Husak, General Director of the Federation of Transport Employers of Ukraine, told about this on the air of "Kyiv24."

"We will experience another round of inflation because the cost of diesel fuel, and to a lesser extent gasoline, is factored into the production cost of almost all goods and services produced in Ukraine," he explained.

Husak reminded that due to recent power supply disruptions, the share of diesel fuel in railway transportation has been increasing. Therefore, it is highly likely that railway transportation costs will rise, leading to an increase in the prices of almost all goods and services in Ukraine's economy.

"Every increase in excise taxes, every increase in tariffs of state monopolies means that some Ukrainian enterprises will cease operations and will not resume after Ukraine's victory. However, we clearly understand the need to raise additional funds for the budget, primarily to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the General Director of the Federation of Transport Employers of Ukraine concluded.
