Putin announced a “truce” for May 9 not just for the parade: Third Assault Brigade points to Russia’s goal
Maksym Zhorin believes the so-called truce on May 9 is not solely to secure the parade on Red Square.

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin announced a “truce” for May 9 not only to hold a parade.
This was stated by Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Dputy Commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, Maksym Zhorin, on 24 Kanal.
According to Zhorin, there have been no significant changes on the front in Ukraine since the start of the day, despite the Russians’ announcement of the so-called “truce.”
“It’s the same as it was yesterday, four days ago, a week ago, or a month ago. As of now, the last assault actions in our area of responsibility ended an hour and a half ago. It was one of their attempts that ended quite badly for the Russians. Shelling continues constantly, and drone drops are ongoing,” Zhorin said.
Thus, it’s impossible to talk about any changes in dynamics, at least in our sector.
Zhorin added that Putin’s announcement of this “truce” pursued several goals, including practical ones. The enemy uses this time to improve logistics and engineering-fortification structures.
According to Zhorin, Putin also has other objectives beyond the parade.
“There are political goals — to publicly declare that they are supposedly ready for a ceasefire, but it’s not happening for some reason. And why? Ask Ukraine. Through this, they try to publicly discredit us. A separate issue is May 9. They are very afraid that on May 9, they will feel deeply ashamed. After all, this is a holiday around which their entire empire is built,” Zhorin added.
