"Putin Encourages Such Crimes": Piontkovskiy on Execution of an AFU Soldier
Widespread war crimes are an evidence of the degeneration of the Russian nation, political scientist says.
Russian President Vladimir Putin encourages commitment of war crimes by Russian soldiers in Ukraine, so they have become a widespread practice, as Russian political analyst Andrey Piontkovsky on the air of the "Freedom" channel, commenting on the video of the shooting of a captured Ukrainian soldier by Russian troops.
"You know that this is just one of many such videos. There is a widespread practice of committing such crimes on camera, since Russian war criminals show these video to each other. This practice is encouraged at the very top. Remember, the brigade that was rampaging in Bucha was solemnly decorated as special "Guards" brigade. Putin is encouraging such crimes," he emphasized.
According to Piontkovskiy, "the massive scale of these crimes shows the result of the last 2-3 decades of degeneration of the Russian nation."
"The top-down imperial fascism of the to elites dreaming of territorial gains merged with the bottom-up criminal fascism. It has gone so far that it cannot be cured," the political scientist emphasized.
