Russian forces are increasing their use of various types of guided aerial bombs. This year, they are expected to be one of the main threats.

Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Public Relations Service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during a national telethon that Russia used about 60,000 guided bombs in 2025.

The number of such strikes carried out by Russian occupying forces continues to rise every month, he said.

“These are weapons the enemy has been using for around two years, and the trend is increasing. We understand that there are not enough missiles in the world to counter these bombs. However, there have already been successful efforts to counter them in different areas,” Yurii Ihnat said.

He added that the primary means of countering such threats should be targeting Russian aviation. That is why, he says, it is necessary “to push the carriers of these guided bombs farther away.”
