In the last ten days of May, the Russian army managed to achieve a "fairly serious" breakthrough in the area between Myrnograd, a suburb of Pokrovsk, and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. However, the occupiers have now been stopped.

This was stated by military expert Serhiy Hrabskyi during a broadcast on FREEDOM.

"The enemy managed to drive a wedge between Ukrainian units in the area from Malynivka to Novoolenivka. The situation was very difficult, but thanks to incredible efforts, the advance of the occupiers has been halted for now. However, the enemy’s attempts to widen this wedge and push further north toward Kostiantynivka continue. The fighting there is particularly intense," Hrabskyi emphasized.

Russian forces are constantly attempting to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense line, employing significant resources to do so. Currently, the occupying army has concentrated its efforts on the Donetsk front.

"If we detail the picture, we are now observing constant attempts by the enemy, with varying degrees of intensity, to continue exerting pressure on the main direction that Russia has chosen for itself at this time. This is the Donetsk direction, the front line from Velyka Novosilka to Chasiv Yar," Hrabskyi stressed.
