Russia has expressed a desire to involve Belarus in potential negotiations regarding Ukraine, claiming that Moscow holds the “peace initiatives” of Minsk in high regard.
This statement was made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, as reported by Russian media.
“We highly value and support Minsk’s peace efforts and consider it important and necessary to involve our closest ally in potential talks about Ukraine that would include Russia,” she stated.
Furthermore, Zakharova emphasized that ensuring Belarus’s security remains one of Russia’s priorities.
Additionally, Moscow declared its readiness to “protect its citizens and peacekeeping contingent in Transnistria.” Zakharova added that any actions threatening the safety of Russians and peacekeepers would be regarded as aggression against Russia under international law.
