Russia is planning to use North Korean military personnel in the war on Ukrainian territory. However, the Russians will manipulate the narrative and claim that North Korean soldiers are fighting “on Russian territory according to the Russian constitution,” since they have written Ukrainian lands into their constitution.

This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“North Korean troops will be in Russian uniforms, just like it was in Kursk region,” Kovalenko emphasized.

Additionally, Russia is actively importing labor from North Korea — men and women, mainly young people between the ages of 18 and 25, to work in various industries. For this, the North Korean authorities receive money from Russia — starting from $1,000 per person.

“Russia is acting similarly to how the Soviet government acted after the Korean War — bringing in cheap labor from Korea for production and paying the North Koreans with resources,” the NSDC explained.

Kovalenko adds that the North Korean workers and their families usually receive only a small portion of the money that Russia pays the DPRK authorities for their labor.
