Russian offensive in Sumy region: How many villages are still under Russian control
Local journalists have reported on the front line situation in the Sumy direction as of June 12.

Russian forces continue their offensive in the Sumy region, although in some areas the Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved certain successes in pushing them back.
This was reported by the local outlet Kordon Media.
According to the outlet’s sources, Ukrainian forces made gains near the village of Yablunivka in the Yunakivka community, and also reported successful actions near Andriivka in the Khotin community. However, Russian troops are still attempting to advance in the Yunakivka area and continue offensive operations in that direction.
According to Kordon, Russian infantry is present in the following villages:
Khotin community: Bilovody and Kostiantynivka. Small Russian units have also been spotted in Volodymyrivka, Oleksiivka, Andriivka, Kindrativka, and Zhuravka.
Yunakivka community: Basivka, Loknia, and Yunakivka, with a smaller presence in Novenke.
Velyka Pysarivka community: Russian forces have appeared in Oleksandrivka.
Russian troops are also reported to be present in the village of Mariine in the Krasnopillia community.
