Ukraine is intensifying efforts to counter enemy strike UAVs, which the Russians use every night to terrorize peaceful cities.
This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“I held a working meeting on countering enemy strike UAVs, which the Russians use every night to terrorize our peaceful cities. Task number one is to increase and scale up the tools that are already proving effective,” the statement said.
The main focus is on increasing the number of interceptor UAVs.
“First and foremost — increasing the number of interceptor UAVs. We need a comprehensive approach, using the capabilities of all available components,” he emphasized.
It was noted that Russian drones are constantly evolving, so Ukraine needs adaptive and flexible solutions:
“The enemy constantly changes the characteristics of its "Shaheds" and the tactics of their use.”
Participants of the meeting also discussed ways to improve the systems for detecting and destroying enemy drones:
“We discussed ways to improve the detection of enemy drones and their timely destruction.”
Specific tasks were assigned, and priority areas were outlined:
“I assigned tasks and identified priority directions. People's lives, the functioning of critical infrastructure, and the country's economy as a whole depend on this.”
In conclusion, he thanked everyone working on the development, implementation, and scaling of interception tools:
“Thanks to everyone developing appropriate solutions for UAV interceptors, helping to implement and scale them, and training operators.”
