Russians try to encircle Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad: Soldier speaks about difficult situation

Near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk region, the Russian army continues to attack from the flanks, intending to encircle them.

This was reported by Kyrylo, callsign «Shef, ” chief sergeant of the unmanned aerial vehicle platoon of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade, in a comment to Suspilne.

According to the soldier, the situation is very difficult because the enemy is trying to encircle the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad agglomerations themselves. The occupiers’ goal is to cut off logistics and complicate the work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units holding the defense in this sector.

«We are trying to hold the line so that the enemy does not advance on our positions. They want to encircle us, cut off logistics to the positions, and make it harder for our brigade and others stationed in this sector to operate, ” Kyrylo said.

According to the General Staff, the Russian army is trying to advance west of Pokrovsk and build on its gains to the east towards Rodynske and Dobropillia. Over the past day, 38 assaults by Russian forces were recorded in this section of the front.

The chief sergeant of the 25th Brigade notes that the enemy has made «minimal advances, but advances nonetheless.» The Russian army is attacking with small infantry groups and drones, while likely keeping its armored vehicles in reserve for a «major assault.»
