Russian troops are bogged down in battles near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk region. The occupiers are unable to break through the defenses or attack the urban agglomeration.

Military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov said this on the FREEDOM TV channel.

According to him, the highest number of combat clashes is currently occurring in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad direction.

“The enemy planned, as part of its summer offensive campaign, to intensify its actions toward the urban agglomeration in Donetsk region, which includes Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, and Kostiantynivka. However, they are stuck in battles southwest of Kostiantynivka, in the areas around Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad,” the expert emphasized.

Russian forces are aiming to partially encircle Pokrovsk because frontal assaults on the defensive lines and positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been unsuccessful. Moreover, the occupiers are experiencing increasing losses, with “no progress or territorial gains.”

According to Seleznyov, concerning news may soon emerge regarding enemy incursions deeper into Dnipropetrovsk region.

“This is extremely challenging in terms of logistics for the Russian forward units, and there’s little logical sense in these movements. The enemy clearly lacks the forces and resources to conduct such large-scale operations. Therefore, they will continue to search for weak points in Ukraine’s defenses. And, without significant battlefield successes, they will traditionally resort to targeting Ukraine’s civilian population,” Vladyslav Seleznyov added.
