Syrskyi announced a significant escalation of the situation on the Eastern Front: details

The situation on the Eastern Front has significantly escalated in recent days. The occupiers are actively attacking the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Lyman and Bakhmut directions with assault groups supported by armored vehicles, while in the Pokrovsk direction, they are attempting to break through the defense using tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, this is associated with a significant intensification of enemy offensive actions following the presidential elections in Russia. Additionally, the warm dry weather has facilitated the enemy's offensive actions, as it has made a large portion of the open terrain accessible to tanks.

"Despite significant losses, the enemy is ramping up efforts by deploying new units with armored vehicles, which occasionally leads to tactical success," the Commander said. Syrskyi said that during his work in the area of the operation, decisions were made "aimed at strengthening the most problematic areas of defense with EW and air defense means. Stocks of drones of all types and anti-tank missiles were replenished, additional reserves of forces and means were deployed. He also noted that the issue of achieving technological superiority over the enemy in high-tech types of weapons once again arose.

"The second serious problem is the improvement of the quality of training of servicemen, especially infantry units, so that they can fully utilize all the capabilities of combat equipment and Western weapons. The primary responsibility for addressing this task lies with the command of the Ground Forces, which has returned in full from the combat zone," Syrskyi added.

The Сommander emphasizes: "We are aware of the real scale and degree of threat from the enemy and are prepared to take adequate and effective actions".
