Syrskyi confirms new Russian offensive: What’s happening on the frontline
The situation on the frontline is escalating, and Ukrainian troops are forced to repel massive enemy attacks.
Russia has intensified offensive actions in Kharkiv and Sumy directions
Russia is continuing its strategic offensive operation, aiming to seize new territories.
This was stated by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with LB.ua.
According to him, the enemy is attempting to defeat Ukrainian troops and advance deeper into the territory to fully occupy Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Additionally, the occupiers seek to establish a buffer zone in the territories of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
“You can see that, despite all the negotiations, we are only witnessing an increase in the intensity of offensive actions,” Syrskyi emphasized.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with Le Figaro, stated that Russia was preparing for a new offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Syrsky confirmed this information.
“I can say that the President is absolutely correct, and this offensive has effectively already begun. For nearly a week, we have observed a doubling of the number of enemy attacks across all major directions,” Syrskyi concluded.
