The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding their defense.

The situation in eastern Ukraine is very difficult. The occupiers have expanded the area of active combat operations by almost 70 kilometers, thus attempting to force us to engage additional brigades from the reserve.

This was reported by Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"The main efforts of the enemy are concentrated in the direction of Strilecha-Lyptsi and the capture of Vovchansk, with further advance towards Bilyi Kolodyaz and launching an offensive towards the rear of our troops. The enemy began the offensive much earlier than the planned date, when they noticed the redeployment of our forces, however, they failed to break through our defense. However, we understand that ahead there will be tough battles and the enemy is preparing for this," he said.

Syrskyi emphasized that "under such circumstances, we must prevent the further advance of the enemy's troops by steadily holding out positions, inflicting maximum losses on them by air strikes, missile systems, artillery and tank fire, as well as create conditions for crushing them through the actions of mobile assault groups and units attacking their flanks and rear from different directions".
