The record use of FPV drones by the Russians in May indicates the aggressor country's ability to increase the production and procurement of these products. Consequently, it raises the urgency of using electronic warfare (EW) measures in the combat zone more and more every day.

Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military-political analyst of the "Information Resistance" group, said this.

"In the combat zone, the Russian occupying forces are setting records not only in terms of personnel and equipment losses but also in the use of means of destruction. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already publicly mentioned the record use of guided aerial bombs by the Russians — over 3,200. However, their use of FPV drones is also reaching record levels," Kovalenko said.

In less than a month of May, over 5,500 FPV drones have been used by the Russian occupying forces! This is the highest number recorded since the start of the full-scale war.

The average daily use of FPV drones by the Russian occupying forces, according to Kovalenko, is approaching 250 per day.

At the beginning of the month, there were periodic surges, with over 350 on May 2 and more than 550 (!!!) on May 3. However, the overall average remains around 250, which is also too much.

Not long ago, the average daily use of FPV drones by the Russian occupying forces did not exceed 150 per day.

"The trend is extremely negative, which indicates Russia's ability to increase the production and procurement of these products. As a result, it raises the urgency of using electronic warfare (EW) measures in the combat zone more and more every day. By the second half of 2024, Russia, currently lagging in the use of FPV drones, could become a leader in terms of numbers, and by the end of the year, the average daily use of these drones could reach a stable rate of 400-500 units," he said.
