Ukrainian Armed Forces remain in some areas of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, but the occupiers keep advancing through devastated areas, making it hard to hold positions.

Viktor Trehubov, Head of Communications for the Joint Forces Group, said this on Espreso TV.

According to him, real problems have arisen on the Vovchansk front. Years of fighting have left the city so ruined that in some spots, even from above, it is impossible to see the street layout.

“Russian forces are advancing through the ruins, where it is extremely difficult to hold positions. Their claims of controlling the entire city are false. Ukrainian troops are still present in parts of Vovchansk, but other districts are completely destroyed, and the enemy is moving through them,” he stressed.

Trehubov added that the current weather conditions give Russians a slight advantage while hampering Ukrainian forces.

“During this period, there is heavy fog, particularly in the mornings, which makes it impossible to fully use aircraft and drones. In these conditions, small enemy groups can infiltrate relatively effectively because they are hard to spot and eliminate in the kill zone. In certain cases, Russians are using their equipment when possible, but so far it’s very limited,” he added.
