President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s air defence capabilities had been boosted with new Patriot systems, following agreements reached with Germany.

The Head of State informed about this on Telegram.

«We have strengthened the Patriot component of our Ukrainian air defense. I thank Germany and personally Chancellor Friedrich Merz for this joint step to protect lives from Russian terror. We had been preparing this air defence reinforcement for some time, and now the agreements have been fulfilled. I thank everyone who contributed!» the President said.

Zelenskyy stressed that Russian air strikes remain the Kremlin’s main tactic in the war, and that enhancing Ukraine’s air defense is key to reducing such attacks and bringing peace closer.

«Russian air strikes are Putin’s main bet. Through terror, he is trying to compensate for his inability to achieve goals on the ground. That’s why every strengthening of our air defence literally brings us closer to the end of the war, ” the President underlined.

He also noted that Ukraine, together with its partners, continues to work on building a reliable air defense system capable of ensuring the safety not only of Ukrainians but also of allies across Europe.

«Our security is indivisible, so our air defense must protect all of us, ” Zelenskyy added.

The President said that talks on further steps to strengthen air defense are ongoing both at the intergovernmental level and directly with system manufacturers.

«There will be more results to come. Glory to Ukraine!» he concluded.
