Mikhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, believes that the terrorist PMC 'Wagner' will not return to the war of Russia against Ukraine. He emphasized that there are several reasons for this.
He said this on August 30 during a telethon.
Podolyak believes that Russia currently benefits from destabilization in African countries, and that is where the aggressor country can send what is left of "Wagner".
"There won't be another leader, that's the first point. Second, the 'Wagner' assets will be taken over, I mean the personnel. We don't take into account the "prisoners", we take the "core". And that's somewhere around 5-6-7 thousand people. These people will be preserved. The Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, an individual named Averianov, will take control over them," he said.
Podolyak also mentioned the countries where the 'Wagnerites' could be sent.
"They will control what is happening on the African continent today. Today, by the way, this is the second coup during this time: not only Niger but also Gabon, Burkina Faso, Mali, Chad, the Central African Republic, and there is another project under Sudan. That is, there is a huge volume of work that can only be carried out by 'Wagner,'" he believes.
Among the reasons why "Wagner" terrorists will not fight against Ukraine, Podolyak mentioned that Shoigu and Gerasimov do not trust them.
"But 'Wagner' will not be present in the war with Ukraine, firstly, because the top brass, the outstanding commanders of the 21st century, Shoigu and Gerasimov, do not trust them. Secondly, 'Wagner' is broken in terms of support by generals like Surovikin, Mizyntsev, and so on. Therefore, there is no 'Wagner' for the war in Ukraine. 'Wagner' will be taken over with its assets for specific tasks on the African continent," he said.
