Frequent talks with Putin could lead to his recognition, which does not strengthen Ukraine. However, Zelenskyy believes that Ukraine has more in common with Germany than differences.

This was stated by President Zelenskyy during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Kyiv.

Zelenskyy mentioned that he was aware of the upcoming call between Scholz and Putin and shared his thoughts with the German Chancellor regarding this.

"After one conversation, there’s the second, third, and fifth call, because sometimes people want to take the lead. And I believe that this could eventually lead to, let’s say, a wave of recognition of Putin. I think this does not strengthen Ukraine. That’s my opinion. But, as I said, Ukraine has much more in common with Germany than we have differences," the President said.
