Zelenskyy warns that Russia may resort to provocations on May 9
Russians cannot be trusted, the President states. Therefore, Kremlin promises about a ceasefire do not mean that Russia won’t engage in provocations in the near future.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges people not to believe Moscow’s promises of a ceasefire and to be prepared for provocations on May 9. As for those who still somehow trust the Kremlin, he says they «can try it on themselves.»
The Head of State made this statement during a press conference in the Czech Republic on May 4.
«First of all, this is not the first challenge. And not the first promises from Russia about a ceasefire… We understand who we’re dealing with. We don’t believe them. They may carry out provocations. It’s their style, ” he said.
Referring to a report by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Zelenskyy cited the number of Russian assaults in Ukraine in just one day.
«All these days they’ve been talking about some kind of partial ceasefire. But, for example, today’s number of assaults (May 4 — ed.) is the highest in recent months. Every day they carry out more than 200 assaults. I received a report from General Syrskyi… He told me: yesterday alone, there were over 200 assaults, ” the President said.
Zelenskyy once again stresses that Moscow cannot be trusted and that preparations must be made for possible provocations by Russia.
«There is no trust. Provocations may occur, but that depends on the Russians. And if someone still believes them — well, let them try it on themselves…» he said.
