Ceasefire: Yermak explains how monitoring could be conducted
The head of the President’s Office emphasizes that a ceasefire is only possible if actions — especially those of the Russians — are monitored.

Before negotiations, between Ukraine and Russia, a 30-day truce must be announced and strictly monitored. If Moscow refuses, then the West should increase pressure on it.
This was stated by Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“That is why today we are saying that if a ceasefire is declared politically, then the teams must immediately begin working out all the details. But in any case, the first step must be a political declaration that a ceasefire is being announced,” he said.
At the same time, according to Yermak, it cannot function 100% effectively from the very first minute.
Are the U.S. ready to monitor the ceasefire?
“I can’t say that they will say: yes, we are ready. But they are not refusing, which is already a good sign. Plus, there are other countries willing to participate in this,” he clarified.
