China claims its role in ending war in Ukraine: Details

China believes its involvement in ceasefire processes and peace talks on Ukraine is constructive. Beijing maintains communication with all parties to the conflict — this is how the country has described the war for the fourth year.

This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, reports Ukrinform.

“From the very beginning of the "Ukraine crisis," China has maintained communication with the relevant parties, including Ukraine and Russia,” Lin said.

According to him, China is “working” on a ceasefire, “promoting peace negotiations,” and will continue to “play a constructive role in this regard.”

“Our efforts are evident to the international community,” the foreign ministry spokesperson added.

He did not provide examples of China’s effective involvement in peace processes in Ukraine. However, he assured that Beijing will continue to play a “constructive role” and will “support any efforts that contribute to peace.”
