Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied reports of an alleged “12-point peace plan” supposedly developed by Europe. As of now there is no concrete action plan.

The Head of State said this during a briefing.

European peace plan

“It’s important to understand whether I, as the president of Ukraine, have seen this plan. No. I think that’s the answer to all the questions. There are various European proposals and approaches regarding a peaceful settlement,” Zelenskyy said.

He also expressed surprise at reports suggesting that Russia was participating in talks under this “plan.”

“It’s strange to hear that Russia is supposedly at the negotiating table, because at this point no European leader or the U.S. president can compel Russia to sit down for talks,” the President emphasized.

Role of the United States in peace efforts

Zelenskyy stressed that any further progress toward a peaceful settlement must involve the United States, as moving to a diplomatic stage is impossible without U.S. political and military support.

“Our position is this: consultations among advisers are ongoing, there are several parallel discussions, but there is no concrete plan on the table at the moment,” he added.
