“International law does not work”: Zelenskyy at UN says what truly ensures protection

In the modern world, security guarantees are not just about international law but also about reliable friends ready to defend it with weapons

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during his address at the United Nations General Assembly.

He emphasized that international norms do not work fully without influential partners who defend them in practice.

"Weapons decide who survives. You all know very well that international law does not work fully if you lack influential friends who are truly ready to defend it. And even that does not work without weapons," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, even their support becomes ineffective without weapons that decide who survives.
