Former Chief of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence and current Head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov responded to media reports suggesting that the U.S. is pressing Ukraine to make concessions to end the war by July.
Speaking to a Lebanese outlet, Budanov said:
"I have not heard our American partners set any specific dates for ending the war. The ongoing negotiations are a very complex and multifaceted process, and it is impossible to set precise deadlines for their conclusion," he said.
Budanov assured that Ukraine is doing everything possible to accelerate the negotiation process and achieve a peaceful resolution.
"America is our ally, regardless of who is president. In this sense, Donald Trump continues the core U.S. policy approach focused on establishing peace and ending aggression. We appreciate his efforts, which have enabled the start of peace talks. I am confident this approach will be strengthened in the future," he said.
