Hysteria over the May 9 «Victory Day» celebrations still shows no signs of fading in Russia. Although the celebration on Red Square took place, it was far from pompous and held in a «scaled-back format.» Now, Moscow claims Kyiv made «attempts» to disrupt festive events abroad.

This was stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova.
The official attributed the alleged attempts to «disrupt» the «Victory Day» celebrations «in other countries» not only to Kyiv but also to «foreign provocators.» She boldly labeled the Ukrainian diaspora as the instigators.

Zakharova concocted claims regarding «attempts to deny» the «Immortal Regiment» campaign, which she described as a «grassroots» initiative rather than one «directed from above.»

May 9 parade as Putin’s failure

On May 9, during the parade on Red Square in Moscow, no military hardware was featured for the first time in 20 years. Furthermore, the celebration was brief, lasting only 45 minutes. The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor state justified this by citing the «current operational situation.» However, this year, for the first time, North Korean soldiers who had fought in the Kursk region officially marched as a separate column.
