At the Ramstein meeting, partners expressed understanding of the needs to bolster Ukrainian air defense and joint weapons production. New PURL contributions from five partner countries have been confirmed.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this following a report from Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude to:
Germany — for continued work on air defense and Ukrainian deep-strike capabilities;
The UK — for ongoing supplies of essential drones and the development of joint capabilities;
Norway — for over $500 million to equip brigades with drones and $150 million to bolster logistics;
The Netherlands — for over €200 million for UAVs;
Spain — for its tangible readiness to operate within the European SAFE program to scale up joint defense capabilities;
Canada — for the latest reinforcement of designated defense sectors;
Belgium — for additional funds for shell supplies and air defense reinforcement;
Lithuania and Estonia — for contributions to the PURL program.
«Crucially, every commitment announced must be delivered in full and on time. With sufficient defense supplies in place, Russia stands no real chance of achieving its occupation goals, ” Zelenskyy stressed.
