The only way to stop Russian terror is through strength. New and severe sanctions targeting Russia’s economy and oil revenues, as well as secondary sanctions against those aiding Russia’s war machine, are required.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this on Facebook, commenting on the overnight massive attack on Ukraine, particularly on Kyiv and its region.
“Another night of Russian terror against Ukraine. Hundreds of missiles and drones. Kyiv under heavy strikes. Hits in residential areas. As of now, at least six people killed and many injured. While Putin talks about strikes in the Middle East, Russia rejects U.S. peace initiatives in Europe and continues killing in Ukraine. Such brutal attacks are deliberately carried out to portray America as weak,” the minister noted.
Sybiha outlined the only way to stop Russian terror.
“The only way to stop Russian terror is through strength. New and tough sanctions targeting Russia’s economy and oil revenues, as well as secondary sanctions against those supporting Russia’s war machine, are needed. Ukraine urgently requires additional defensive capabilities — primarily air defense systems and interceptors, artillery ammunition, and investments in Ukrainian defense production,” he stressed.
Sybiha noted that important international summits are taking place this week, which must yield tangible results.
“We have no time to wait. The moment has come to demonstrate transatlantic unity and strength,” he concluded.
