On Friday, July 18, EU ambassadors approved a new, 18th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the sanctions.
This was reported on Telegram.
"A decision by the European Union, for which we all actively worked together. We managed to strengthen the 18th package of sanctions against Russia for this war, and today the package has been approved. Thanks to everyone who helped... This is a necessary decision, and it is needed right now in response to Russia intensifying its brutal attacks on our cities and villages," the President stated.
"The 18th sanctions package continues the pressure on Russia’s tanker fleet — not only on the vessels themselves, but also on the captains of the shadow fleet and the companies that help enable this oil-funded killing. We will continue this pressure," Zelenskyy added.
