President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed his visit to Türkiye and his readiness for a personal meeting with dictator Vladimir Putin.

The Head of State announced this during a media interaction on May 13.

“I will be in Türkiye on the 15th and am ready to meet with Putin. We will meet with Erdoğan in Ankara, but we are ready to move to Istanbul if Putin wants that and says he will only fly to Istanbul, not Ankara. To avoid any manipulations, the meeting will be in Ankara. It will take place on May 15. We all, together with other leaders, understand and are working toward one goal—ending the war,” Zelenskyy states.

He emphasizes that the main outcome of this meeting in Türkiye must be a ceasefire, which is a step toward ending the war.

“If Putin is there, he must confirm his intention to attend,” the Ukrainian President concluded.
