“Trump’s last war”: Political analyst explains why the U.S. cannot quickly defeat Iran — and how Ukrainian drones factor in

A political analyst explained why the United States will not be able to emerge victorious from the conflict without a ground operation.

Donald Trump has said Ukrainian drones are unnecessary for the United States in the Middle East, while also suggesting the conflict with Iran could end quickly.

But the expert says those statements contain more politics than real solutions.
Political analyst Volodymyr Horbach said this on his Facebook page.

According to the expert, Trump’s rhetoric about Ukrainian drone systems rests on two main arguments.

First, Trump argues that U.S.-made drones are better, though more expensive, and that allies should buy them instead. Second, he suggests the need for such systems could disappear as the war with Iran approaches a quick end.

Volodymyr Horbach says the competition between drone systems is primarily a technical and commercial issue.

“Regarding the first point, it’s a technical matter and a question of different price categories,” he said.

Claims about a quick end to hostilities, however, require deeper analysis.

Illusion of a quick victory over Iran

The key problem is that a formal declaration of victory would not end the real confrontation. The analyst suggests that Donals Trump could publicly announce that the war is over and claim full victory, but the situation in the Middle East would remain tense.

Without overthrowing the current regime in Tehran, the aggression cannot be stopped.

“The ayatollahs will not stop. They will pursue him by all available means, including terrorist attacks, assassination attempts and even "dirty bombs,” the expert says.

A trap for the US: Why this is Trump’s “last war”

Horbach argues that Trump will no longer be able to walk away from this war unscathed. The American leader is unlikely to risk a full-scale ground operation or deploy troops to Iran to force regime change.
At the same time, ending the war without the consent of the Iranian regime would also be impossible.

“It’s a symbiosis. And this is his last war,” the political analyst concluded.
