The government is in emergency mode to gain maximum partner support against Russian terror. Diplomats and energy officials joined efforts for broad international coordination.
This was announced by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
“Energy Ramstein”
Following the instruction of Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, the Foreign Ministry together with the Ministry of Energy, now led by Denys Shmyhal, are convening a special format of allies’ meeting — “Energy Ramstein.”
The main goal is to secure additional contributions to the Energy Support Fund and specific equipment for restoring generation.
“We are working with all our partners… In the near future we expect new bilateral packages of energy support,” Sybiha noted.
Who has helped so far
Diplomatic efforts are already showing results:
Norway: Provided a major aid package worth 200 million dollars. The funds will be used to purchase gas and necessary equipment.
Italy: Started delivering industrial boilers (550–3000 KW). The total value of the shipment is 1.85 million euros. This equipment will save heating in the most affected communities.
Air defense — the best protection for energy
Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine has good news on air defense. On January 16, announcements are expected about additional packages to strengthen air defense capabilities.
“For the Ukrainian energy system, the best help is every Russian missile and drone that fails to reach its target,” the minister stressed.
The Foreign Minister assured that Russia will not only fail in its plans to break Ukrainians with cold, but will also be held accountable for this genocide in international courts.
